That Grover

If Jones was allowed to watch the same 3 minute Super Grover clip for an hour straight, he would. At least it's not Barney. I try to save Super Grover moments for when I need to do some meal prep or take a speed shower. Thank you for being so super, Grover.

Between 34 and 35

Jones asking me to "sit seat" so I can help him open and close his plastic eggs.

Loot from the church Easter egg hunt.

I feel like I've gone from high-functioning to low-functioning in a matter of weeks. I went into triage on Wednesday to have the baby monitored and I ended up having low blood pressure and a high heart rate. I was told to rest for a couple days (no swimming...boo), but now I feel like I need to rest all of the time. Walking is really uncomfortable and standing is becoming uncomfortable too. I can only fall asleep at night if Scott is rubbing my hand or back and even then it takes a long time. I'm becoming a real baby about it and I get frustrated a lot. Scott has had to step up his game big time and I appreciate it GREATLY. I can't imagine another 5 weeks of feeling like this, but I don't have much of a choice. :) This sounds like a big whine session.

Things that are going well...Jones is well behaved for the most part and talking more and more every day. He still sleeps well and I really enjoy his company. I can't run after him outside anymore, but he does a fairly good job of staying where he should. Scott is done with the semester in a few weeks and I can't wait for him to be home more. Mostly so that Jones has someone fun to play with. Well, here's to another 37 days.

Baby book

Even though I have not updated Jones' baby book completely, that doesn't mean I can't start one for baby #2. You can't have enough unfinished projects hanging over your head causing you guilt that results in watching too many episodes of Celebrity Apprentice so that you forget about your projects (deep inhalation). Those are the words I live by.

Check out the baby book here.

33 Weeks

Jones wanted to get in on the photo shoot and I wanted to display my super strength, so it was a win-win situation. You can see from the bottom photo that Jones' hair is growing (in places) but coming in like duck fuzz.

Not too much has changed since last week. I think I'm walking and moving slower due to achy legs. My heartburn has improved in the evenings (hallelujah), but my stomach feels tighter in exchange. I'll take the Braxton Hicks contractions over heartburn. I haven't purchased any baby clothes in a couple weeks, a true demonstration of will power. On Sunday I made a few onesie appliques like I used to make in San Francisco, and I'll post photos when they're done. Anyone want a onesie? Haha. If I get around to it, it'll be a miracle.

Recently the weather has been beautiful and I've really enjoyed taking Jones outside to play. It's nice to chat with the other moms and sit down while Jones throws sand on his own head and eats his friends' crackers out of the dirt. :)

32 Weeks

When I see myself without glasses I think I look so strange. It's like shaving off the handlebar mustache you've been wearing for years. Anyway, things are slowing down for me physically as I'm feeling more aches, pains and discomfort. Long walks result in long couch time. The days are fairly normal, but by about 7 PM all I have the energy to do is receive a nice foot rub. I don't worry about counting kicks because this baby kicks me so often that it drives me nuts. It's 7:48 PM as I type this and I can hear the couch and my body pillow calling my name. And I think I hear a bag of jelly beans speaking to me, but I'll try to ignore them.

Here's to 8 more weeks. Blurg.

Scholar

Most of Jones' days are spent studying the pages of very serious books...

...followed by 10-15 minutes of "zoning out" to absorb it all.
