Chicago, IL

A couple weekends ago we spent a day in Chicago with the Chambers family. The weather was great and it was fun to be in a big city again. We started the day with lunch at Hot Doug's. I highly recommend it.

Next we took a tour of Navy Pier. This is the best family photo of many that were taken. Oh well. :)

Inside the pier was a train that Jones was not old enough to ride. Heartbreak.

We ended our day with some bus/train rides to and from Chinatown. Poor Jones had to have his dirty diaper changed while sitting in his stroller on the side of a busy road in Chinatown. It was pretty chilly and I was just glad that he didn't pee on me mid-change.

Twenty-nine weeks or something

All is going well. Feeling pretty good. Still exercising. Still sleeping. Thinking about names, but not decided on anything. Scott and I are in agreement on our favorite name, but I know a lot of people don't really like it. He doesn't care, but of course I do. Obsessed with shopping for baby girl clothes. Here is my favorite purchase so far.

Sunday walks

Sunday afternoon walks are becoming a tradition for us (so long as the temperature is above 25 degrees) and it's probably Jones' favorite part of the day. He likes running down hills and saying "Two, go!" before taking off. Mom or dad are supposed to fill in the "one" and the "three".

Showing me his teeth.

Walking through daddy's legs.

Chapped, slobbery and crusty.

Focused on the "tids" (kids) that suddenly appeared. Jones is always fixated on any kids that come near him. He is the friendliest 18 month old I've ever met. His new joy is shouting "Hi!" across the playground or parking lot if he sees anyone within 100 yards of us. He has a very loud voice for a toddler, so most people look around confused until they see a tiny person waving excitedly at them from afar.

Henry Vilas Zoo: Take II

This time around our trip to the zoo was much more successful. Better weather, more animals.

The bird and fish exhibit was the best.

Yikes. Mama is getting big.

More mobile uploads - videos

The weather was "nice" one day a couple weeks ago so I thought I'd be the best mom ever and let Jones play in the water and mud.

Thick snow and a trail just wide enough for a sled. This is how we roll in Wisconsin.

Mobile uploads

I needed to get rid of some photos on my phone, so I thought I'd dump them here.

First real snow outing in Wisconsin. A trip to Five Guys.

Testing out the hand-me-down champion of all hand-me-downs.

Taiwan airport. Eating sandwiches.

Upon arriving in the Bangkok airport. Four AM. HOT.

Jones just couldn't take it anymore.

Capitola, CA. Michael in the background. First time in the ocean.

No teeth. This photo makes me excited for baby number 2.

Just relaxing in bed.

A rainy walk in San Francisco.

This counts as exercise for me, right?

Fools

These photos might make it seem as though we had a great time at the Henry Vilas Zoo, but they tell lies. We arrived when the gates opened at 9:30 AM last Saturday, only to find out that no exhibits open until 10 AM. It felt like it was about -10 degrees so walking aimlessly around an empty zoo was pretty torturous. When 10 o'clock rolled around the zoo staff decided to slack off and not open the exhibits, so we left the zoo at 10:15 because we decided that there was no certain time that we would get our freezing bodies indoors.

Trip to the zoo...fail.
