Before we had a sleepless weekend

As usual, Halloween snuck up on me before I had prepared for it.  So I made costumes for everyone out of things we had around the house, plus some felt.  It took some serious brain power, but I came up with the theme "Things That Fly".  My costume is by far the worst, but I had to spend all my time making Greta's super awesome.  We had a pretty good time at the ward Halloween party, but if I'm being honest, Jones' loot from that night was less than ideal (meaning there wasn't enough chocolate for Scott and I to pillage while he slept).

And just because, here's a snapshot that sums up our terrible, horrible, no good, very bad weekend. We'll see if I have the energy to put the costumes on again for Trick-or-Treating tonight.

Conversations with Jones- Part II

J: Mommy, I have a question.
Me: Okay.
J: What...I...uh...I...I forget.
Me: You forgot?
J: I have a question! I could go to the punkin farm.

(in a playhouse)
J: I don't know...I don't know where my wallet is.  (hmmm...sounds like Scott)

(at bedtime, trying to open the door I'm holding shut from the outside. this kind of broke my heart.)
J:  COME on door!  It not working!  I trying!  Come on door!

J: I just reading my book.  Otay?  I just reading my book.

Talk, talk, talkin

Jones talks. He talks all. day. long.

J- "I have a itchy! I can't get it!"

Me- "Did you get it?"

L- "I did NOT get it!"

J- "Hey Scoooooooott! I say 'Scott'. I be right back, okay?"

J- "Daddy, you remember your shoes, daddy."

J- (watching General Conference on TV) "What he talking about?"

Me- "I don't know. Let's listen."

J- (listens) "He abouting 'Gospel'. He abouting 'Jesus'.  He abouting Dassa Miff (Joseph Smith).  He talking bout Nephi."

J- "What on her shirt?"

Me- "A string."

J- "Oh! Great idea!"

Once upon a time Jones turned two

Jones was born.  And then he grew up.  That's the story.

 

On September 19th we celebrated Jones all day by letting him do whatever he wanted. 

 

So naturally we took a tour of the capitol building in Madison. 

And of course I let Jones stand up on this stroller, which led to him falling on his face.  His favorite thing.   Okay, so I didn't LET HIM do it, but he did it.

 We went to see the tigers and then we consulted a hair specialist to help us understand Jones' early onset male pattern baldness.   ;)

We spent the rest of the day at the playground. 

Jones likes neither cake nor ice cream, so we dragged him to a bakery (this is true) and he chose the "big Cookie Monster cupcake".  His fingers and face turned blue.  Loved it.  AND he successfully blew out one candle by himself.  

Dad finally broke out the camera to document the big moment.
