Goodbye snow, please.

This was our last and only snow party this winter. We went to Manti in January to enjoy the deep powder with Kensley, Brad and the kiddies. I write this post in hopes that I won't see the snow again this season.

Dream Bikes

We bought this yellow Schwinn for me last night off of Craigslist and I LOVE IT. It's in great condition and we got a good deal for it. It's currently in the shop for a tune up and a basket addition. It'll be ready in no time. If you see a super awesome and really good looking person riding around the streets of downtown SLC on a rad Schwinn, it's probably me.

Scott's dream bike (the Raleigh Coaster) is still up for bid on Ebay and we'll be using our bidding skills to get it this week. Wish us luck.

Sherri and Graham, show us your new bike. We're Schwinn buddies now.

City by the Bay

We're really doing it. We're moving to San Francisco. Scott was accepted to SFSU for their MFA program in Film and we'll be relocating in August. We're super psyched, but we'll miss everyone in Utah terribly. We have so many friends in the area (ok, Scott has so many friends) and almost ALL of our family is now here. It will definitely be a bitter sweet move.

Things we're looking forward to in San Francisco:

1. The weather

2. Riding our bikes

3. Awesome food (namely, bread bowls)

4. The Ullmans

5. New adventures

6. Being closer to our CA family: The Bozzutos, The Ericksons, The Montijos, The La Pointes, The Lindsays, The Arnolds, The Abarcas (I don't even know if I spelled any of these right...this is why I didn't list names, Courtney).

7. The weather

MORE TO COME. I need to help Scott get ready for his trip to LA in the morning.

An Evening with the Harris'

Whitney: How do you spell Harris'?
Jared Harris: Who the he** knows.
Scott: What kind of lights are those?
Jared Harris: They're lamps.
-------

Tessa Harris: We look really mean, take another picture.

-------

Whitney: Is it really hot in here, or is it just me? Maybe I should take off my turtleneck.

-------

Jared Harris: I used to watch a video when I was a kid where Michael Jackson is with this big rabbit and then he turns into a rabbit and all of his skin flips over and then he flies away.

-------

Tessa Harris: I painted some cakes. You should buy it. I'd give you a great deal, like Two Grand...Or maybe I'll just give it to you or something.

-------

Whitney (to Tessa): So if you were like tricking Jared and no longer taking the pill? You'd sneak get pregnant.
Scott: And Jared would just call you Chubbs.

-------

Jared Harris: My grandpa was a train conductor, but I think he retired.
Whitney: Or maybe he still drives trains.
Jared Harris: Actually he passed away.
Whitney: Oh...sorry.

-------

WE THANK THE HARRIS' FOR JOINING US THIS EVENING. THE CONVERSATION WAS STIMULATING AND WE APPRECIATE THEM FOR WANTING TO BE OUR FRIENDS.

Chocolate Amnesia

I've been wanting to share a Valentine's story and I've really enjoyed Spencer's blogs that include verbatim dialogue, so I thought I'd combine the two.

Here's the situation...I had some leftover fine chocolates that Scott had given me for Valentine's. Its now a few days after Valentine's and Scott had a holiday from work for President's Day or something. I didn't, so Scott was home alone and dutifully taking care of chores that were way past due (probably my fault). Later that evening while lying around watching a movie...

ME: Hey, is this the wrapper from my chocolate bar?
SCOTT: (distractedly) Yeah...
ME: But it's all gone.
SCOTT: Yeah...
ME: Uh...Did you eat it ALL?
SCOTT: (with surprise) I thought you had some today.
ME: Nooo...
SCOTT: Oh, I thought you ate some when you got home from work.
ME: I didn't! (confused) When did you eat it? I've been around you since I got home.
SCOTT: I don't remember!
ME: You don't know WHEN you ate it?
SCOTT: (defensively) I ate it sometime, I just don't remember when.
ME: Did you eat it after I got home from work?
SCOTT: I think so. I don't know exactly..
ME: So you have Chocolate Amnesia or something?
SCOTT: I guess...
ME: The rule is that you can taste other people's food, but you can't
FINISH it off. That's the rule! You always have to leave some.

I don't really remember how the conversation ended. I know we were lauging and I remember forgiving him. I guess that's what I get for leaving chocolate out when Scott is roaming the house.

Question: Am I Getting Lockjaw?

Throughout the day I notice that I am clenching my jaw and tightening my face muscles while doing ordinary tasks: working, driving, watching TV. I do it without noticing until I realize my face hurts and I kind of have a headache.

Just now I was enjoying an apple and my jaw got stuck (for about .5 seconds) while I was trying to take a bite and it freaked me out. I stopped eating the apple. However, I was basically finished with it.

What is my problem? Will I end up looking like this guy someday? Yikes.

Michael Bolton, in concert

Michael Bolton is coming to Wendover tomorrow and for some embarrassing reason, I really want to go to his concert. I remember his songs from my childhood and they are all associated with good memories. I've been hearing ads on the radio for his concert for a month now and every time I hear his medley of his songs I want to hear more. The funny thing is I'm driving through Wendover tomorrow on my way to Sacramento. Maybe its meant to be. Maybe I should convince Kensley to stop in Wendover. Violette would understand, right?

The new baby

This is Violette Bozzuto. She's my niece now and she's 4 days old. I'm going out to California on Friday to meet her.
