Hurrah!

I am so proud of this little boy.  He went three days in a row without one accident.  I was shocked and elated.  He is using his potty like a champion and it has made life without Scott so much easier.

While Scott is away, in Janesville we play.  The Williams house is where we go when we need to get away and I need a change of scenery and a good laugh.  Don't even get me started about moving away from them...

Now that we're home and I'm getting pretty bored we do things like eat lunch at the
playground in the mall (full of kid diseases, I'm sure).

We find whatever ways we can to entertain ourselves.  Four more days...four more days...four more days.

Little Darling

At ten moths old, Greta is stealing our hearts and getting away with pretty much everything.  I have to keep myself in check because it is WAY too hard to say no to this baby.
No one wants to hear me fawn all over her in this post or go into the details of every cute thing she has ever done, so I'll let her awesomeness speak for itself.

Our third baby

Good-bye, dear Jetta that brought our two babies home from the hospital.  You were too small for our big adventures and we had to let you go.  May you go to a good home.

Hello, lovely minivan with room for 7 and all the junk we could possibly imagine.  It's hard to tell who loves you the most.  Perhaps Jones.  We feel incredibly spoiled to have you and welcome the stigma that comes along with you.

It's potty time around here

This is about how I felt after our "Potty Train in a Day" experience.  Whew.  What a day.

But it worked!!!  And Jones is loving his new underpants. I am almost in disbelief that he has taken to the switch so well.  He has even gone from leaking out of his diapers at night because he was peeing SO MUCH, to keeping his nighttime pull-ups dry.  Say what?  You heard me right.  Dry.  We have had only a couple pee accidents total and we are now down to 0-1 poop accidents a day.  Miracle of miracles!

Unlike me, Jones is pretty laid back about the whole situation...

He mostly likes to show off his new undies to friends and neighbors.

So...life goes on.  We play outside with undies.

We announce to the world that we're living diaper free.

We hurry off to pee-pee when he's got to go.

And we still go on outings and jogs (albeit brief ones).

iPhone dump

I have a wonderful SLR camera and it sits in a drawer all day, every day.  I am making a promise to the internet world that I will take it out this week and take advantage of our lovely weather.  In the meantime, just a bunch of cell phone photos.

Here's a look at what we've been up to outdoors.  I admit that when we decided to come to Madison I wasn't excited to live in an apartment complex.  I've always liked the feeling of being in a home, but the playground outside our door has been the best way to spend our time.   Where would I be without these swings and the fresh air?  Eating goldfish crackers in a corner while my kids run the house.  Haha.

The Henry Vilas Zoo is also a fun place to visit, but I can't handle it for longer than an hour.  I get a little sad seeing all the animals that definitely don't belong in Wisconsin.  And for some reason, walking around the zoo with Jones and Greta is way more exhausting than taking them on a 5K.

Jones is so happy to be with Henry.  If Jones could live with Henry, he would. Oh, wait...we sort of did at Christmas, didn't we?

The upper 70 degree weather last week meant breaking out the pool for an afternoon.  Greta mostly ate crackers and mud while Jones enjoyed the water.

We almost never meet daddy at school, but the thought of a blue ice cream cone got us motivated.

And it was worth it.

Off the ball

If I am sometimes on the ball, then it makes sense to say that lately I have been off the ball.  I don't know what is wrong with me, but I have been SO lazy lately.  I think the dreariness of March got the best of me.  But now we are basking in the upper 50 degree weather and enjoying the benefits of Daylight Savings (i.e. children waking up after 6 AM).  Yes, Daylight Savings started just this morning, but I'm just riding the wave of excitement.

I guess I'll just post a smattering of photos from the past month.
If I get some words of encouragement, I might be able to muster a real blog post next week.  :)

First (and last?) snowman of the year.

"Under dog".

Airing out a diaper rash, with poise.

Reading her favorite book for what seems like forever.

Getting their superhero on.

Buckteeth.  Sad haircut.  Absurdly tiny bib.  No eating skills.  I love him.

The wonder of snow.

Pre-bedtime "I Spy" with daddy.

Greta's 9 month check up.  19 lbs, in the 50s for weight and height, and 95th percentile
for her head, of course.

Angry face.  If this was the face he mad when he was actually angry, tantrums might be a bit more fun.

Hands-off parenting.  :)

A trip to campus for a picnic with friends.
