Playing sports

Jones loves playing sports and will actually exclaim, "We're playing spooooorts!" when we throw a ball or run fast.  Saturday was a beautiful day so dad gave Jones some t-ball training.  Jones' response was, "Can you just leave me alone?  Can I do it all by myself?".
Oh, boy.  What kind of future teenager do we have on our hands?

Things are looking up

Scott is home from all of his traveling, the weather is fine, no one is sick and, oh yes, we're moving to Austin, Texas!  Scott got a job teaching film at a Catholic college in Austin called St. Edwards.  He'll start in the fall semester, so our move will happen some time this summer. We are feeling so blessed and so excited.  We wish we could be moving closer to home, but Austin is a great city and we are really looking forward to having some fun there.  Now the planning starts.  Anyone is Austin have some advice for us?

cabin fever

With both kids sick and the roads full of snow, we had a terribly boring day inside the house.  Around 3:00 PM I just couldn't take it anymore and I made a bold decision to venture out into the 18 degree weather for a sled ride.  It mostly went well, except for the non stop shoving by Jones because his sister was touching him and except for when I had to jump inside a huge dumpster to retrieve my nice snow glove.  Not my proudest moment.
Soooo, all in all it wasn't too bad.

Classic.  Jones is simultaneously pushing Greta away from him and trying to eat snow.  I don't know why it bothers me, but I hate it when Jones eats snow the entire time we're outside.

Dinner

Scott is now in Austin and I have survived the day.  I'm becoming a pro at this single mom thing.  Both kids were asleep by 7:15 and my house is relatively clean.  And I'll go ahead and brag and let you know that I have sweet potatoes baking in the oven for Greta's lunch and dinner tomorrow.
Yeah.  I'm THAT kind of awesome.

Jones was really chipper at dinner tonight.  It might be due to the fact that he doesn't know that he has really weird hair most days because I am a) too lazy to fix it and b) unsure how to tame it.

Jones and Greta are both sick with colds and a cough.  So wonderful.  Jones sneezed right before this picture and said, "I been sneezing all day long."  I just about died.

And then there's this little bundle of broccoli.  She always prefers to feed herself and and will store everything she possibly can in her cheeks for as long as she can.  If I dare try to spoon feed her something that doesn't appeal to her tastes, she'll squeeze her mouth closed, shut her eyes and snort repeatedly.  She's a real charmer.

Greta, Greta, Greta

It starts.  The overwhelming upload of baby photos.  Brace yourself.

The camera is back!

After 6 months of waiting, we finally fixed our Nikon D40x and I am SO excited to pick it up tomorrow.  You might not feel so lucky, however, because it will mean a huge increase in pictures of my kids.  Can you stomach it?  I can't wait to return to photos like these...

(who is that chubby, bald baby?)

Poor Greta, you've been cheated out of high-quality baby photos and I vow to make it up to you. What a sad, grainy photographic life you've had.

Our weekend

We spent some time relaxing...

Jones achieved his best hat-hair EVER.

And then flipped out because we had to leave the playground.

We all enjoyed a mediocre strawberry milkshake (well, we snubbed Greta and made her drink milk)

And since we were at a restaurant it only makes sense that one of our children got partially naked.  See HERE.

Lastly, we've had a minimal amount of sleep, but it's always pretty adorable.

Free time

Over the past couple of months I've completed a few design projects for friends and I've had such fun doing it.  It is incredibly satisfying to use my brain for something other than finding the best way to keep two babies entertained.  Speaking of which, they're both screaming instead of napping because the other one is screaming.  Aaah!

Sweet potatoes

He's back...for a limited time

Scott returned to America on Saturday and he's been recovering ever since.  He slept 12 hours the night he got back, 10 hours the next night and perhaps a normal amount last night.  He had a rough trip and lost 8 lbs in the 8 days he was gone.  Yikes.
stress + anxiety + Haitian food = the new diet of 2012.

tired.

The days before Scott came home I was trying desperately to make time go faster.  For instance, nighttime walks in our "temperate" weather was a favorite activity.

I was also entertained by Greta's introduction to big people food (strawberries, bananas, boiled carrot sticks).

In preparation for Scott's upcoming trips out of state, I implemented a messaging system to keep the love in our house.  So far it's a big hit.
