This napping photo might not look too exciting to you, but boy howdy it's exciting to me. Jones has been fighting his naps (crying for at least 60 minutes) almost every day for the last month. I changed up our morning routine a bit this morning...and voila. It took him about 20-25 minutes to fall asleep, but there was no crying. He just talked to himself, pulled at his socks, ate his feet and then fell asleep on his side. He has never slept without a blanket or swaddle, so this is pretty amazing. I could go on and on.

I love the stray sock that didn't survive the battle with his chubby, little hands.

Thanks

I give thanks for Jones every day. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father that Jones is the wonderful, healthy boy that he is and that Scott and I have been blessed with the gift of raising him. Almost daily I hear myself telling Scott that I can't believe how much I love this boy. It's embarrassing to admit, but I am often brought to tears when I think about what my world is like with him in it. Being a mother has required a sacrifice of my time, energy and vanity, but it is worth it in ways that I can not describe.

I hope that I will never take it for granted.

Aaaaaw...

Lately I've been thinking about the experience of being pregnant and going through labor and delivery. I DID NOT like being pregnant, but I actually enjoyed the process of having Jones. I've decided that I'm going to try to enjoy being pregnant whenever that experience comes my way again. Now that I know what a sweet little nugget that big, awful belly produces, maybe I'll be happier about it.

Look at this kid...I'm crazy about him. He's getting so big these days. He's practically growing a mustache now. The day he was born was the best day of my life. Sigh.
