Dear Jones-
Life in Thailand is getting better. We were certainly thrown into the fire when we first arrived…and for many days after. Maybe it was your jet lag plus my jet lag that magnified all of the small things that weren’t going right or weren’t what I expected. Everything here is different from life in America. Well, almost everything. It sounds exciting, but when you’re in the middle of all that change it can be frustrating. Thank goodness you are such a dream baby and are pretty much easy in every situation. You cling to me sometimes, usually when you’re tired or hungry, but you take to new friends like a duck to water.
We are settling into a routine and that feels good. You are sleeping through the night. Your digestive issues seem to be gone. Your appetite is back. Your naps are short. Sounds like status quo to me.
Either the weather has improved or my body has suddenly acclimated to the hot, wet air…either way things feel better. I find that this makes a huge difference in my ability to be a good mother and a good wife. A few days ago, this summer seemed daunting. Today, the next few months seem exciting. I was hoping that I would adapt to our new life here, and out of the blue I feel like I have. I hope you stay healthy and continue to be a happy boy. If that happens, I think I will look back on this experience with much fondness.
Love,
Mom

As I type this, Scott informs me that our waitress on the right was actually a "lady man". Hmmm.

Cute shirt jonesie boy....what an adjustment Whit, I really can't imagine. The humidity sounds like some kind of horror. Sending you some California love....
how in the world did you need scott to tell you it was a lady man? did iris on antm teach you nothing? adam's apple = man.
OK. If diapers don't have tape any more, how do they stay on? It has been 20 years since I changed a diaper! Yippee!
